Hannah accepts instructions from both defence solicitors and prosecuting authorities in all areas of criminal law. She regularly prosecutes in the Crown Court for the CPS, DEFRA and the UKBA. Hannah has experience in both the Crown and Magistrates’ Courts, successfully defending cases ranging from road traffic offences to drugs importation, GBH, sexual offences, burglary, fraud, robbery and offensive weapons. She is a Grade 2 Advocate for the Crown Prosecution Service.
Hannah has extensive experience of, and is able to advise clients in respect of parole hearings and prison adjudications. She also has experience in dealing with extradition matters from first appearance through to conclusion. She is fully familiar with restraint and confiscation proceedings and cash forfeiture.
Hannah’s experience extends to sexual offences cases, she has recently represented a defendant charged with possession of indecent images, inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and making indecent images. She also recently represented a man charged with exposure. The case involved the cross examination of two young children. The defendant was acquitted (see recent case work below)
Hannah has experience in dealing with cases involving sentencing under the ‘dangerousness’ provisions of the Criminal Justice Act 2003. She has represented individuals made subject to various ancillary orders including Sexual Offences Prevention Orders, football banning orders and anti-social behaviour orders.
In 2010 Hannah spent time working at the Financial Services Authority advising on an investigation into insider dealing as well as assisting with disclosure.
Hannah has vast experience in Road Traffic law having worked as a legal advisor in the Magistrates’ Court. She regularly represents defendants charged with driving with excess alcohol, dangerous driving and other minor driving offences.

Prosecution Counsel in a case where the defendant (who was in the army) was charged with the importation of 457 grams of cocaine at 100% purity, he was convicted and sentenced to 6 years imprisonment. The case was featured in the national press.
R v B, Portsmouth Crown Court
Defence Counsel in a case where the defendant was charged with possession of indecent images, inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and making indecent images.
R v D, Guildford Crown Court
Defence Counsel in a case of child cruelty. The defendant was alleged to have neglected her two year old son. A not guilty verdict was returned.
R v Burger, Kingston Crown Court
Defence Counsel in a case where the defendant was charged with possession of a truncheon. The woman was severely disabled. Her defence was that she used to work on ‘The Bill’. A not guilty verdict was returned.
R v Gayle, Harrow Crown Court
The defendant was convicted of stabbing his co-defendant in the course of an affray. He was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment.
R v Smith, Guildford Crown Court
Defence Counsel in a two handed burglary trial involving a husband and wife who were alleged to have burgled a number of new build properties of white goods. The defendant was unanimously acquitted.

Defence Counsel in a three handed trial for affray. All three defendants were acquitted.
R v Cummings, Ipswich Crown Court
Prosecution Counsel in a trial for a section 18 wounding where the defendant was convicted of stabbing a male in the street in front of his ex partner.

Prosecution Counsel on behalf of UK Border Agency in a trial where the defendants were charged with the importation of over 4 kilos of cocaine.

R v W, Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court
Defence Counsel in a case involving a defendant charged with exposing himself in a swimming pool. The defendant was acquitted. The case involved the cross examination of young children.
