Chambers’ members are authors and contributors to major text books and law reform papers.
 
Among many published works, Professor, Law Commissioner and chambers Door Tenant, David Ormerod, is the author of “Smith & Hogan on Criminal Law” and editor of the companion volume “Smith and Hogan Cases and Materials on Criminal Law”. He is co-editor of “Blackstone’s Criminal Practice”, with Lord Justice Hooper, and of “The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act” explanation and commentary, with R D Taylor.
 
David Ormerod is also co-Editor, and Tony Shaw QC Deputy Editor, of “Fraud: Criminal Law and Procedure (Oxford University Press, 1st ed., 2008). Contributors from 18 Red Lion Court include Tony Shaw QC (Conspiracy to Defraud; Presenting a Fraud Case), Mark Lucraft QC (Presenting a Fraud Case; Revenue Offences) and Allison Clare (Theft Act Offences; Fraud Act 2006)
 
Anthony Arlidge QC is the co-author of “Arlidge and Parry on Fraud” (Thomson / Sweet & Maxwell, 3rd ed., 2007) and of “Arlidge and Eady on Contempt of Court” (2003). Alex Milne QC has since authored the 1st Supplement to Arlidge and Parry on Fraud (3rd Ed.), published in March 2011.
 
Several members of 18 Red Lion Court also contributed to “Fraud: Law, Practice and Procedure (LexisNexis / Butterworths, 1st ed., 2004). They are David Ormerod, Richard Sutton QC (Section Editor), Mark Lucraft QC, David Williams QC, Andrew Marshall, David Walbank, Allison Clare, Tom Forster, and Gillian Jones.
 
David Ormerod and David Williams QC are the authors of “Smith’s Law of Theft” (Oxford University Press, 9th ed. 2007).
 
Peter Carter QC is the co-author with Ruth Harrison of “Offences of Violence” (1991 and 1994). He is also the co-author (with Barnaby Jameson, Max Hill QC and others) of “A Practitioner’s Guide to Terrorism Trials” (2007).
 
Tony Shaw QC and Mark Lucraft QC are two of the team of practitioner editors of “Archbold: Criminal Pleading, Evidence and Practice”. Gillian Jones is currently a contributing editor to Archbold - Magistrates Court Criminal Practice (Sweet & Maxwell) 2009.

Mark Lucraft QC and Hannah Willcocks are two of the three editors of the "Encyclopaedia of Road Traffic Law and Practice" (Sweet & Maxwell). Sarah Lewis is to join them as the EU Road Traffic editor. The Road Traffic Updater is edited by Mark Lucraft QC and former member of chambers, the Hon. Mrs. Justice Dobbs DBE.
 
David Ormerod and Tony Shaw QC are currently under contract to write a definitive work on conspiracy. Tony Shaw QC was also Chairman of the CBA report responding to the Law Commission’s Consultation Paper on Reforming the Law of Bribery.
